Dr. Jonathan Ahaddian is an orthodontic resident at the Georgia School of Orthodontics, training at Smiles for Kids under the mentorship of Dr. Sharma. A graduate of the USC Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry who grew up in Los Angeles, Dr. Ahaddian was drawn to orthodontics by his own childhood experience with a smile he felt self-conscious about. That personal history shapes how he treats every patient today — with empathy, patience, and a deep belief that trust between doctor and family is what makes treatment succeed.

Dr. Kerlan received a bachelor’s degree in English from Emory University and a Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry at Memphis. He continued his dental training in the General Practice Residency at The Ohio State College of Dentistry and went on to pursue his pediatric dentistry training at the University of Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Kerlan has been practicing pediatric dentistry in GA since 2004.

Dr. Tu Tran is a general dentist at the Smiles for Kids office in Decatur — the practice families may still know as Children’s Dentistry of Decatur. With 28 years of experience and a lifelong commitment to serving underserved communities, Dr. Tran built his career on a simple belief: every child deserves high-quality dental care, regardless of their family’s circumstances. A graduate of the University of Colorado School of Dentistry, he’s spent nearly three decades earning the trust of Decatur families, one honest conversation at a time.

With 31 years of experience, Dr. Afsaneh Hamzehpour is one of the most seasoned general dentists at Smiles for Kids. Born in Iran and trained at the University of Louisville, Dr. Hamzehpour has built her entire practice philosophy around never prioritizing speed or profit over what’s genuinely best for a child.
