Dr. Jonathan Ahaddian
DDS — Orthodontic Resident
Dr. Jonathan Ahaddian is an orthodontic resident at the Georgia School of Orthodontics, training at Smiles for Kids under the mentorship of Dr. Sharma. A graduate of the USC Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry who grew up in Los Angeles, Dr. Ahaddian was drawn to orthodontics by his own childhood experience with a smile he felt self-conscious about. That personal history shapes how he treats every patient today — with empathy, patience, and a deep belief that trust between doctor and family is what makes treatment succeed.
Dr. Ahaddian grew up in Los Angeles, California, and earned his dental degree from the USC Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry. He is currently completing his orthodontic residency at the Georgia School of Orthodontics and has passed the American Board of Orthodontics written examination as part of his continuing path toward board certification.
Dr. Ahaddian’s path to orthodontics started young. As a child, he had issues with his own smile that left him feeling self-conscious — an experience he now channels into his work with every patient. He chose orthodontics specifically because it gave him a way to help kids and teens through the same kind of insecurity he once felt, and to see them come out the other side more confident.
Dr. Ahaddian joined Smiles for Kids to train alongside Dr. Sharma, whose whole-patient approach to pediatric and orthodontic care he deeply admires. He was drawn to the practice’s ability to handle a child’s entire dental journey — from baby teeth to braces — under one roof, and he sees his residency here as a chance to learn from a dual board-certified mentor while contributing to that same standard of care.
In the treatment chair, Dr. Ahaddian treats every parent like a patient in their own right — even when they’re not the one receiving care. He believes trust between doctor and family is the foundation of good orthodontic outcomes, and he makes a point of speaking with parents first to understand what will help their child feel most comfortable before any procedure begins.
Outside the office, Dr. Ahaddian is a devoted Los Angeles Lakers fan and enjoys basketball and football. He loves sushi and tuna in particular, and — in a fact that surprises most people who meet him — everyone in his family is left-handed.
